When you adopt a dog, you save a loving animal by embracing them and you also open space for an animal in need.
You get a new best friend.
Animal shelters and rescue groups have happy, healthy pets waiting for someone to give them a forever home. Our dog's are house-trained and accustomed to living with families.
You will get more for less.
The cost of spaying or neutering, vaccinations, and microchipping is included in our adoptions, saving you on the upfront costs of animal care.
You will help your health.
Owning a pet has been shown to be emotionally and physically beneficial. Rescue dogs provide a special sense of purpose and fulfillment.
How does it work?
We welcome all dog lovers to fill out our adoption application & introduce yourself to us.
MUST LIVE IN THE LOS ANGELES AREA, unless otherwise discussed in advance, we will only consider Los Angeles area adoptions. If you do not live in the LA area please check with us before filling out an application by emailing us info@pawsoflarescue.org
IF RENTING, have the knowledge and written consent of your landlord.
MUST BE 21Applicant must be at least 21 years old/head of household.
BE WILLING TO SPEND THE TIME & MONEY necessary to provide training, medical treatment and proper care of the dog for the rest of its life.

Call and consultation
Once submitted, we will review your application and reach out to set up a consultation, evaluate your needs and preferences.
Meet and Greet
If we believe the dog is a right fit for your home, we will arrange a meet and greet.
Home check and trial period
If the meet and greet goes well, a home check will be scheduled. The opportunity for a trial period with the dog in your house as a part of your day, before any adoption is finalized to ensure it is a good match.
Official adoption
When both parties agree this is a good match after the trial period, we will send you the Adoption Contract for
signing-along with transferring the microchip and copies of medical records.
